Our Story
At Down Under Pottery in Lincoln, Nebraska, I believe everyone has a creative spark, and I am here to help you discover yours. Since opening in 1997, I have been dedicated to sharing the joy of pottery through small, hands-on classes and beautifully crafted ceramic pieces.
Down Under Pottery offers beginner-friendly 6-week pottery wheel classes, where you’ll learn to shape, throw, and glaze your own creations in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Whether you're trying pottery for the first time or looking to build your skills, I am excited to guide you every step of the way.
Founder Kathleen brings over 40 years of teaching experience and holds degrees in Art, Psychology, and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing. Her passion for creativity and community is at the heart of everything we do.

Meet Your Instructor
Kathleen leads the studio with personalized, one-on-one instruction, bringing decades of experience and creativity to each class. She’s closely followed by her two loyal assistants, Jilly and Pete — our resident studio dogs who specialize in warm greetings, occasional clay tasting, and keeping team spirits high.
